AI agent skill

VIE ships an Agent Skill that teaches your coding agent how to use VIE well. This page shows what it does, and how to install it in a project that uses VIE.

What it does

Once installed, the skill loads whenever your agent writes, explains or reviews VIE code. It gives the agent:

  • VIE’s good practices, each with the reason behind it;

  • a review checklist of the mistakes VIE’s types allow, with how to spot and fix each one;

  • templates to scaffold a new screen: its contract, its ViewModel, and its view with a preview.

You use it by asking in plain words, for instance:

  • "Create a VIE screen named Profile."

  • "Review the VIE code of the settings feature."

  • "Why does this view take the ViewModel?"

When scaffolding a screen, the agent matches the layout of your existing screens, and never overwrites a file without asking.

Installing it

Install the skill in the project that uses VIE, not in VIE itself.

With any agent that reads Agent Skills (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini CLI…), run this from the project’s root:

npx skills add kosi-libs/VIE

Add -a <agent> to install it for a single agent, or -g to install it for your user instead of the project.

As a Claude Code plugin

The VIE repository is also a Claude Code plugin marketplace:

/plugin marketplace add kosi-libs/VIE
/plugin install vie@kodein-vie

Auto-update is off by default for a third-party marketplace. To keep the skill up to date, turn it on for kodein-vie in the /plugin menu, under the Marketplaces tab.

By hand

Copy the skills/vie directory of the VIE repository into your agent’s skills directory, such as .agents/skills/vie or .claude/skills/vie.
